The Strategy discusses a variety of prevention programs, including school- and community-based programs, student drug testing programs, and public service advertisements. These diverse approaches help parents keep kids away from drugs and alcohol. Yet none of these programs is enough to make a decisive difference without significant parental involvement.

On March 1, 2004 President Bush announced his 2004 National Drug Control Strategy Campaign, which will be presented to Congress. Within this document the Mt. The Mt. Hood Coalition Against Drug Crime has been selected to serve on the Governor’s Methamphetamine Task Force, the purpose of which is to develop a set of actions to attack the production and use of methamphetamine in

Mt Hood Coalition Against Drug Crime Hosts
White House Drug Czar - John Walters!

On Wednesday, August 13, 2003, John Walters, Director of the White House Office on Drug Policy, visited with the Coalition for a tour of 2 house that are known community "problems". He then held a press conference on the site that, until the previous week, had contained a Meth contaminated house which had been one of the initial reasons for the formation of the Mount Hood Coalition Against Drug Crime.(see Press Release)

Public Service Award

on February 8, 2003, the Coalition received a Public Service Award from the Clackamas County Sheriff for our contribution to the community

Drug-Free Communities
Grant award

September 2002: The Drug-Free Communities Support Program has awarded $100,000 to the Mt. Hood Coalition Against Drug Crime (in collaboration with the Oregon Trail School District) to organize an educational program to increase drug & alcohol awareness and decrease illegal use by minors.
